So on January 7th at approximately 8:15am I will be interviewed live on the CBC Radio Morning Show. They contacted me via phone/email after seeing my feature in the Peterborough Examiner! Pretty neat I must I say. So please listen out for that tomorrow morning if you’re within the frequency range. Alternatively, I will make sure I can post a recorded version of the interview for those that miss the show. Now we just need the News to interview me.. then the Discovery Channel to give me my own show maybe? Thanks again to everyone for your support.
First Weekend Complete!

Well I made it through the first weekend! Let me tell ya.. the stress of trying to get everything ready over the holidays was a challenge! Now it’s just a matter of scheduling myself in a routine fashion to get some serious work done and knock these 2 projects out! In case you guys have missed the shows you can click on the “previous shows” link so you can view the missed episodes. I am trying to find a suitable host to upload the files to as I have already maxed out my limit on USTREAM. I plan to rectify this issue as soon as possible!
So far we have found out how low the BMW will sit on it’s PSS9′s, still some fender work to do for proper clearance but that will be taken care of very soon. I have installed the UUC Brake Line kit, consisting of 6 brake lines all in braided steel with nice blue silicone sleeves. I have not bled the system out yet as I still plan to bypass the ABS unit and bleed the system out with DOT 5 racing fluid.
The car has been completely stripped down as body work has commenced getting the car ready for paint. There was some rust on the passenger side rocker panel which required removal of the passenger side AC Schnitzer side skirt. It was urethaned on, and required some serious force, patience and prying to get it off! After removing it some shaping and bending to try and get it straight again was needed.
Finally some body work and sanding has been started on the passenger side. Everything seems to be moving along quite well. Once the body work and paint are out of the way I will be moving on to installing the performance add ons such as the M3 S52 cams/trays/lifters, Super Sprint headers, Custom 3″ midpipe with race cat from Oakville Motorwerks, and a few other goodies here and there. Some door panel dyeing and white face gauge installation for the cluster are some of the other things to come!
For now here are a few pics of the progress over the weekend. Enjoy.
Project Day 1 recap.

So the stress of Day 1 is over. This morning I was quite certain I was going to have to stream via the webcam on my laptop…. The “easycap” adapter I ordered for the S-Video to USB was suppose to be delivered on the 3oth and just never showed. Canada Post still shows deliver for then, so I am not sure what happened. Thankfully Chris from Darkside Fibre Communications had an old video capturing card that he kindly donated to the project today!
So a few connection issues, a horrible microphone until my cable shows up, and me accidentally yanking out the camera cord a few times resulted in some down time… But it was successful. I am still getting used to finding camera placement and sometimes I forget its even on and my language slips. I managed to get the ///M3 all buttoned up for now and moved in the first project car (1992 ACS BMW). Did a bit of suspension work on it to see how low I could get the car, some spacers will be needed for the front and some fender stretching.
I will be at it again tomorrow and hopefully updating the show schedule to a bit more detail early next week. So please keep checking back for that. I will try to formalize the show as much as possible however, i do work a full time job and have a life aside from work and cars. I will be sorting out what scheduled time I will be working on the cars during the week nights and approximate the hours on weekends. I am looking forward to getting these projects going! The next few months will be going by very quickly!

Well the car is not totally complete as I still need to paint the spoiler (had it in the car after i masked it all up!) install the door moldings and clean up some of the interior pieces. The car came out pretty good, I will have to buff out a few dust spots in the clear here and there but overall the paint came out nice. The poor car had a rough life and it is nice to see it back together in one uniform color. I managed to piece the front bumper back together even though it took quite the blow in the accident. The joys of working with fiberglass as you are able to repair easily! On the other hand, the drivers side skirt in urethane was held on with like a dozen screws which rusted and started popping through, filling all those holes was quite the chore!
All in all the project went well, took a little longer than i wanted as I ended up spraying the whole car but i am pleased with the results. I will be smoking out the amber corner lights and most likely the kidney grills as well! I wanted to paint my tow hook bright red but all I had laying around was the blue. Have a look at the pics to see the final product. Of course I have a nice set of 18″ staggered mesh wheels for it, but those will be waiting for the nicer weather to come.

I was interviewed last Sunday December 27th for the local news paper! The article was printed on December 31st and included a video clip which I wasn’t aware they were going to post! I thought it was just part of the interview for reference purposes but what can ya do? I was happy with the write up and for anyone who would like to have a read, the article can be found at: Examiner Article

Well it’s almost time for the Project to start! Needless to say I have been pretty busy over the past week with Christmas, Family, Friends and the 1997 M3 project. I painted the M3 last night and have been working on assembly. It needs a few more things cleaned up, especially in the interior, but it should look good all cleaned up! I will post pictures of it within the next day or so.
Today I also ran an Outdoor Cat5 cable from the house to the shop since I do not want to rely on Wireless signal. I am hoping that my ISP steps up to the plate and delivers reliable service during the time of the project!! I am hoping you can all bare with me as there will be times where the connection may drop or maybe the power goes out or maybe even the shop PC will explode! Who knows? But I will do my best to ensure you are all able to watch what’s going on!
Tomorrow I will be setting up the camera and testing the stream from the shop. The camera set up has been a whole separate issue on it’s own! Thankfully I have found a device called the “EasyCap” which will be arriving tomorrow which will convert an S-Video signal from my camcorder to USB. Apparently it works wonders and many people are very happy with this gadget. So I will be putting it to the test. If all else fails, you may be stuck with a Web Cam view for opening day
..
Over the weekend I will be planning on updating the schedule of the project with more detail and may shift a few things around here there as needed. But otherwise everything should be good to go! I hope everyone gets a chance to check out the stream in their free time!
Happy New Year!

Hey all! Well I made it back from my big journey. It was an amazing experience and needless to say, I am not too thrilled to be back in the cold! I am however pretty excited to get the project rolling!! I am not sure if I will be camera ready to preview the M3 assembly but we will see. I have been swamped with life and my real job but I am doing my best!
I have managed to remove all the damaged components from the car and put on the new OEM parts I had. I have also stripped off all the lights, moldings, and mirrors and started sanding the body. A few dings and dents to repair. Someone also thought it would be a good idea to install the side skirts with drywall screws all the way along the side of the rockers, so I will be repairing that mess as well. Unfortunately due to a prior incident (the one that gave it the “rebuilt” title) it seems there was lots of poor body work in the A pillars and that the drivers door has been changed.. all the other VIN numbers matched.. Some body work was also found in the drivers side rear quarter panel. So I will be sure to give the car the proper attention it needs to bring it back to M3 standard.
I noticed the car would make an odd sound when turning the steering wheel and it seems as the passenger side coil is broken so that will have to be replaced as well! I am hoping to have the bulk of the work done by early next week and the car painted by Christmas! If I can get the cams set up in between sometime then those who wish to watch some of the final assembly will be able to!

Shawn has just sent me the BMW render and wow it looks great!! Can’t wait to build this car to look like his render. I will be arriving back to my home town tomorrow (Dec 9th) and will be updating the SCHEDULE accordingly. The Mustang will now be featuring a Vortech A Trim Supercharger installation so watch out for that! Lastly a big thanks to Peterborough Powdercoating who will be providing powder coating for some of the major suspension components! Thanks guys!

Well the time is getting closer and closer, and now I will soon be leaving sunny Australia! I will be gone from November 25th until December 9th as the Wife and I will be traveling New Zealand and British Columbia. I will have limited internet access during those 2 weeks but will be back in full force once we are back in Canada! Shop set-up and preparation! If time allows I may be streaming a SNEAK PEAK of a 1997 M3 collision repair as it will be my winter car! Will most likely be dropping it down and plowing some snow! No promises, as I need to have this car fixed and driving ASAP upon return!
In other news! Sponsorship proposals have been sent off to select Vendors for Mustang related parts. Companies such as, Maximum Motorsports, Cervinis, Steeda and Racecraft. Hoping to hear back some positive results upon my return from abroad.
I would like to thank all of the current Sponsors as they have helped tremendously thus far! From rendering design work, to custom mid-pipes, S52 cams, Synthetic fluids, Xbraces, Lips, Rad Covers, Leather Seats, Paint, Advertising, Monetary contributions, etc etc! Your help is greatly appreciated!
To all of my followers! Thank you so much for your interest in this project! I trust you will all enjoy it as much as me and hopefully be a little entertained over the cold winter months for those of you who are up north! Be sure to keep spreading the word.
